The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (in Virginia)

October is the most beautiful month of the year in western Virginia.

Of course April and May (and all the other months) are exceptional, too, but, let's face it, October is when the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountains are at their most spectacular. With the combination of a wet Spring and a cool, dry Autumn, we're set up to have an incredible explosion of Fall colors this month.


If you are thinking about a trip to our neck of the woods, this is the time to do it. Lexington is among the "Top 10 Coolest Small Towns in America," we're surrounded by the most gorgeous Fall foliage you'll see anywhere, and the Red Hen is eager play a part in making your visit enjoyable and unforgettable.
