A couple of very cool things we saw today in the garden. The Monarch Butterfly emerged from her chrysalis this morning. Here she is drying her wings (Abby says she is trying to get blood pumping into her wings so she can fly; she's probably right).Here is a terrible shot of the chrysalis, which was attached to one
of our sittin' chairs. I wish this shot were better-- it was the color of jade crystal, with little gold dots.
We saw a large black snake (that showed little interest in our little darlings, thank God).
The chicks are really growing up fast, with lots more feathers.
We also saw a box turtle, but forgot to take his picture.
